Santa Maria Quiegolani is located at 2’160 mts above the sea level. The name is derived from Zapotec meaning "carved rock" or possibly "within the river", and it is right here in the reed-bed where the Palenque from the community that produces El Huésped.

 

Agave from the region for the region, the most Agaves are wild Tobalá, Tepeztate, Mexicano and Jabalís, the region is as well abundant in Cultivated Espadin and the fields can be seen in the mountains’ panorama, needless to say the name “El Huésped” is more than eloquent with town’s hospitality and how good everyone receives you with an smile up there!
